Neonatal non-contact respiratory monitoring based on real-time infrared thermography
BACKGROUND Monitoring of vital parameters is an important topic in neonatal daily care. Progress in computational intelligence and medical sensors has facilitated the development of smart bedside monitors that can integrate multiple parameters into a single monitoring system. This paper describes non-contact monitoring of neonatal vital signals based on infrared thermography as a new biomedical...
متن کاملNon-contact video-based vital sign monitoring using ambient light and auto-regressive models.
Remote sensing of the reflectance photoplethysmogram using a video camera typically positioned 1 m away from the patient's face is a promising method for monitoring the vital signs of patients without attaching any electrodes or sensors to them. Most of the papers in the literature on non-contact vital sign monitoring report results on human volunteers in controlled environments. We have been a...
متن کاملNon Contact Heart Monitoring
Heart rate is, among the many vital signs (respiration rate, blood oxygen saturation, arterial blood pressure, etc.), one of the most commonly measured and monitored. Whatever will be the sensing principle or the monitoring method used, data referred to the heart rate can be considered the primary vital sign information which is needed on a patient approach in both emergency and clinical situat...
متن کاملNon-Contact Wireless Power Monitoring
The most recent and reliable data show that building occupants are spending increasing amounts of money on electric power, a significant portion of which is used to run plug-load appliances. However, there is good evidence to suggest that with accurate, complete, easyto-digest information on how, when, and where power is being used, consumers can then respond by reducing wasted energy through c...
متن کاملRespiratory function monitoring during neonatal emergency transport.
This study reports for the first time the use of a respiratory function monitor in a prospective observational cohort of ventilated babies during transport. All 17 babies achieved target transcutaneous carbon dioxide tension within 15 minutes. Fifteen babies had improved ventilation with changes guided by the respiratory function monitor. The monitor was easy to use and useful.
